Century High School to Host Armed Forces Career Information Night
Westminster, MD

Century High School will host an Armed Forces Career Information Night on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. High school students and parents from throughout the county are invited to attend.

Join representatives from the US Armed Forces for an evening of information related to the various career opportunities young men and women may obtain when they pursue military enlistment. Often, parents hear of a child’s interest in military service and only think about the combat arms military occupations. While this is an essential function of the Armed Forces, there are many more career-training opportunities that exist within the various branches of the military that prepare young people for professional occupations both inside the service and as a civilian.

The following representatives will be in attendance to provide information about what jobs and training are available:

  • United States Air Force - Technical Sergeant Christopher Hill

  • United States Army - Staff Sergeant Matthew Green

  • United States Navy - Petty Officer Raven Tresler

  • United States Marine Corps - Sergeant Devon Bryant.

Parents and students will have the opportunity to visit with each branch of service representative and then attend up to three 25-minute breakout sessions where each representative will speak about opportunities and life within their specific branch and answer some questions. Families may attend as many or as few sessions as they wish.

Information about the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test will also be provided to families as this is a typical first step for consideration in establishing a military occupation.
