Gifted and Talented Students to Sponsor Activities


Gifted and talented students at Century and Liberty High Schools and Oklahoma Road and Sykesville Middle Schools have planned several upcoming activities:


Saturday, May 18, 1:00 p.m.

Car and Dog Wash at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 26 to raise funds for the Humane Society, the Westminster Cold Weather Shelter, and the Children’s Survival Centre.


Saturday, May 18, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Guest speaker George Ndhawa from Nairobi, Kenya, will be speaking at the Eldersburg Library about how to combat international human trafficking through local relationships with organizations like the Children’s Survival Centre.

Tuesday, May 28, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Students from Liberty and Century High Schools and their elementary and middle feeder schools will display visual arts and performance pieces created or inspired by minority artists during the Minority Arts Showcase at Liberty High School.

Wednesday, May 29, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

The Fifth Annual Regional Gifted and Talented Showcase will be held at Sykesville Middle School.  Students from Century, Liberty, Sykesville, and Oklahoma Road Gifted and Talented groups will showcase the products of their year-long seminars, including sociology experiments, leadership endeavors, robotics, creative writing, films, literature studies, and more.
