Carroll Students Advance to Maryland History Day

Students who finished first or second in their categories at the Carroll County Public Schools History Day Competition can now advance to the Maryland History Day Competition at UMBC on April 28, 2018.  Winners at the state competition will advance to the national competition to be held at the University of Maryland in May.

In addition, the following special awards were presented by county agencies:


Commissioners Award for Local History:

Sarah Fischer and Marin Taylor: Antietam


The Historical Society of Carroll County Award for Historical Research:

Allison Lord and Parker O’Neill: Jeanne White-Gidner: Fight for Her Son and Compromise


Pipe Creek Civil War Round Table for Student Performance:

Debra Alaoma: Salem Witch Trials.
