Division of Labor and Industry Information Request

The Division of Labor and Industry (DLI) is conducting a comprehensive initiative to share information and connect with employers and employees across the state. Our goal is to make it easy for you to access information so we can offer solutions and provide assistance whenever possible. I am writing to enlist your help to make certain we are positioned to better serve you, our valued customers.

DLI conducts workshops throughout the state to help business people like you navigate Maryland's legal and regulatory landscape, so you can better understand your rights and responsibilities. During the past year, we have conducted over 250 programs attended by nearly 7,500 individuals, presenting information on topics covering wage and hour and worker classification laws, occupational safety issues, and prevailing wage laws and rate determinations.

We are continually working to improve communications to ensure that important announcements and event notices are directed to the appropriate individuals in each organization. We understand you are busy and the last thing you need is to be inundated with emails not relevant to your role in the company. To reduce the volume of letters and emails, we are refining our data so we can tailor future communications specifically to the people who would have the most interest in a particular subject. For your convenience, I am enclosing an information sheet (click on the Contact Information Form link below). We ask that you please complete this form and circulate it among your colleagues. Once complete, feel free to fax to (410) 767-2986 or emailmelissa.myer1@maryland.gov.

In closing, we are scheduling workshops in your area and encourage you to attend an upcoming session. In the interim, if I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (410) 767-2992 or emailsteven.lakin@maryland.gov.
