Lesh Selected as Maryland Science Finalist for Presidential Award 
      Christine Lesh, a master science teacher at Winters Mill High School, has been selected as a 2016-2017 Maryland Science Finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching (PAEMST). 
      Lesh engages Biology, AP Biology, and Honors Anatomy students in meaningful, inquiry-based learning. She has been a member of the Winters Mill faculty for the past ten years and previously taught at Liberty High School. 
      Lesh has also been selected multiple times by the College Board as an AP Biology reader.  She writes Biology curriculum for Carroll County Public Schools and has been selected by the Maryland State Department of Education as a College and Career Readiness presenter. She also serves on several science-related committees. 
      The Presidential Awards are the nation's highest honors for teachers of mathematics and science. Awardees serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their communities, and leaders in the improvement of mathematics and science education. The award recognizes those teachers who develop and implement a high-quality instructional program that is informed by content knowledge and enhances student learning.
