CCPS Employees Complete Leadership Carroll Program

Hart Selected as Class of 2017 Valedictorian

Chantress Baptist, Supervisor of Human Resources, and Kendra Hart, Supervisor of Elementary Instruction and Gifted and Talented Instruction, recently completed the Leadership Carroll program. Hart was overwhelmingly elected by her peers as the student best representing the Class of 2017 to serve as Valedictorian.

Leadership Carroll, co-sponsored by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and Carroll Community College, is considered the premier leadership development program in Carroll County. The program provides existing and emerging leaders with a combination of leadership training and detailed knowledge of the community, including a descriptions of the problems, opportunities, and issues facing the community. Businesses, nonprofit agencies, and government organizations enroll their managers and key professional staff in the program and provide them direct contact with county leaders and institutions.

Participants in the program gather for an overnight retreat in September and for one full-day session each month from October through June. Monthly sessions offer site visits, guest lecturers, expert presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and networking focusing on one or more aspects of life in Carroll County. Topics include state and local government, agriculture, public and private education, business and economic development, justice and the law, and media.
