Century High School will be hosting two singer-songwriters from Nashville – Jenn Bostic and Kyshona Armstrong – on April 4-6, 2017. They will be conducting songwriting workshops in music classes, and Armstrong also will share her experiences as a music therapist with psychology classes.

Bostic and Armstrong also will be offering two “flex chats” for students outside the music and psychology programs who wish to learn more about the craft of songwriting, performance, the music business, and music therapy.

“I am excited to know these ladies personally, and their music is both eclectic and inspirational,” said choral director and psychology teacher Melissa Adelmann. “Jenn’s musical genre is hard to categorize; she has been called ‘too country for pop, and too pop for country’, but she also has a strong jazz/blues influence in her music.  Kyshona is a powerhouse of soul, blues, and everything in between.”

The singer-songwriters will perform in concert on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Baldwin’s Station in downtown Sykesville. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and are available through Baldwin’s Station at 410-795-1041. Dinner seatings are at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 p.m. The event will serve in part as a fundraiser for the music program at Century.
