Evan Warren, a ninth grade student at Westminster High School, was elected as Student Representative-Elect to the Board of Education of Carroll County at the Carroll County Student Government General Assembly. Warren will serve as the Student Representative-Elect during the 2017-2018 school year and will be seated as the Student Representative for the 2018-2019 school year.

Warren excels academically and is an independent thinker who contributes to class discussions, asks insightful questions, and gives unique, thoughtful analysis at appropriate times. “He is eager to participate, but not overbearing or bombastic,” said Aaron Robinson, AP Government teacher at Westminster High School. “Because of his willingness to listen to others, his analytical abilities, clarity of expression and sense of humor, he has earned a great deal of respect from his peers and teachers at WHS.”

Warren’s contributions to Westminster High School go beyond the classroom. He is a member of the Student Government Association and plays JV football and lacrosse. In the community, he is a volunteer for Carroll County Rec Basketball and volunteers for a variety of functions including those that help veterans and the homeless. He also is a member of Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon.

According to Robinson, “Knowing how much he puts into his schoolwork, I honestly don’t understand how Evan finds the time to do it all, but he seems to handle it all with aplomb.”
