Today Community Foundation of Carroll County officially announced the retirement of founding director Audrey Cimino and named her successor.

Board Chair William Gering made the announcement, stating that Cimino’s final day as director will be March 31, 2020, after which she will be executive director emeritus, and will continue to assist the foundation as a consultant.

“There are just not enough words to express the gratitude of the board, the people whose funds the foundation supports, and the communities across Carroll County who benefit from the work Audrey and her team have done over the past 25 years. It is truly remarkable how the community foundation grew under Audrey’s leadership, and we have nothing but thanks and admiration for her tireless dedication to building the Community Foundation of Carroll County into the success it is today,” Gering said.

Jaclyn Mathias, program director for the non-profit, will assume her new role as director on April 1, 2020. The board, who unanimously voted to approve the transition at its February 2020 board meeting, “has complete confidence in Jacie’s ability to lead the foundation into the future,” Gering said. Mathias has been with Community Foundation of Carroll County since 2007. She started with the foundation as an administrative assistant to Cimino.

An open house celebration is planned for Audrey Cimino in the future. Celebrating Audrey Cimino: Impact, Legacy, Change will be an opportunity for friends, colleagues, and clients to gather in honor of Cimino and celebrate all she has accomplished in Carroll County.
