Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County (RCIS) received a proclamation from the Carroll County Commissioners on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 9AM at the Carroll County Office Building. The proclamation declared February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month.  RCIS CEO Janice Kispert and SART Coordinator Kaitlyn Huber were present to receive the proclamation. Call RCIS for more information at 410-857-0900.

February is National Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month and it is critical that we take this time to remember that interpersonal violence is not just a problem for adults. 1 in 3 adolescents in the US will be a victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse from a dating partner every year. Two-thirds of teens who are in an abusive relationship never tell anyone about the abuse.

For additional information, please contact the RCIS office at (410) 857-0900 or visit their website at www.rapecrisiscc.org.
