Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County (RCIS) received a proclamation from the Carroll County Commissioners on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Carroll County Office Building. The proclamation declared April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. RCIS Outreach Specialist Kelsey Christensen and Business Administrator Barbara Werner, as well as RCIS Board Member, State’s Attorney Brian DeLeonardo, were present to receive the proclamation.

Child sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault are issues that transcend boundaries of gender, age, race and socio-economic status. RCIS is the only facility in the area trained to work with the very specific issues associated with the trauma caused by sexual crimes. The staff provides professional and compassionate intervention, 24-hour hotline services, advocacy services, therapeutic counseling, and education to promote prevention and community services. All therapy services are free of charge.

For additional information, please contact the RCIS office at (410) 857-0900 or visit their website at www.rapecrisiscc.org.
