The Community Media Center (CMC) is offering broadcast services to local municipalities as a way to provide an equal platform to all registered candidates and provide citizens with information about candidates seeking public office in upcoming elections.

The CMC has offered each of Carroll County’s eight municipalities the opportunity to have a municipal candidate forum, or meet the candidates event, broadcast on the local cable channels 19 and 23, and streamed on the Community Media Center website at

In addition, all registered municipal candidates are invited to record a candidate video profile. Profiles will also be broadcast on local cable channels 19 & 23 and will be posted on a special municipal election page of the Community Media Center’s website at

“We believe that by providing an equal platform for all candidates, we can enable residents to become more deeply involved in their local communities and make informed decisions,” said Richard Turner, Executive Director of the Community Media Center. “Our goal is to share local content that provides equal access to all candidates, and allows for an exchange of viewpoints with local residents to help them make informed decisions and engage in the democratic process.”

The municipal election page on the CMC website will include basic information about municipal election dates, polling places, a list of candidates running for office, videos and additional links. Information will be added to the site as it becomes available, so the public is encouraged to visit often to insure that they have the most up-to-date information.

The Community Media Center is pleased to provide this valuable programming to the residents of Carroll County. We encourage local citizens to learn about all the candidates and take part in their local elections. Visit the Community Media Center website at for additional information.
