Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County serves victims of sexual violence, providing confidential services free of charge. As part of their prevention efforts, they are offering bystander intervention cocktail napkins to bars and restaurants in the Carroll County region. These efforts are a way to encourage individuals to become more proactive bystanders.

Any individual is capable of interfering in order to interrupt a potentially dangerous situation. An individual can intervene by asking the potential victim if they are uncomfortable, or even by making a distraction to allow the person to get away from the situation.

The napkins have the message printed on them, “If you see something – say something. Be an active bystander”. They also provide Rape Crisis Intervention Service’s 24-hour hotline number 410-857-7322.

For more information and to request napkins for your establishment, contact Katy Tote, Outreach Specialist, at 410-857-0900.
