Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County (RCIS) received a proclamation from the Carroll County Commissioners on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 10AM at the Carroll County Office Building. The proclamation declared April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. RCIS CEO Janice Kispert and Outreach Specialist Katharine Tote were present to receive the proclamation. Call RCIS for more information at 410-857-0900.

Child sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault are issues that transcend boundaries of gender, age, race and socio-economic status.  RCIS is the only facility in the area trained to work with the very specific issues associated with the trauma caused by sexual crimes.  The staff provides professional and compassionate intervention, 24-hour hotline services, advocacy services, therapeutic counseling, and education to promote prevention and community services.  Therapy services are free of charge.
